September 18th, 2012 - Ogilvy Brussels is launching worldwide an awareness campaign for Alzheimer’s Disease International in support of World’s Alzheimer’s Day on Friday September 21st.
The purpose of the campaign is to make people aware of how it feels to have to live with Alzheimer’s Disease by wiping out all memories of Facebook users for one day. How ? By donating their timeline to the international Alzheimer association.
Ogilvy Brussels developed a website where you can download an application. This application activates itself on September 21st and erases all memories from your virtual Facebook timeline on this day : pictures, status, videos, friends, family, … Everything will disappear for one day from your timeline. Instead a message will appear saying ‘Imagine your life without memories. For 36 million people living with Alzheimer’s disease, this is reality.’ The website allows to share your support among friends via Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
To reinforce the message, we made a viral movie with the help of Poetry In Motion production company and the actresses Gilda De Bal and Leen Diependaele. Reinhard van Bergen - Das Pop was in charge of the music.
